Adam Lovick is a seasoned systems engineer and architect with deep expertise in BMC Control-M and mission-critical batch scheduling. Over a career spanning financial services and consulting, he has designed and delivered resilient, disaster-ready environments, led global scheduling transformations in the banking sector, and earned BMC’s Best Practice Award.
Before founding Ortom8 he worked as a consultant, where he built bespoke conversion tooling (Java, Python, XSLT), executed complex migrations, including a 47,000-job mainframe move on an aggressive timeline and has trained teams from operators to administrators.
Known for translating complex concepts for any audience, Adam combines rapid problem analysis with pragmatic engineering to boost reliability, cut costs, and keep services running smoothly.
Adam set-up Ortom8 with Mike Braithwaite in 2020 with one aim – to revolutionise the workload automation landscape by boosting reliability, cutting costs, and keeping services running smoothly.

Mike Braithwaite is the Managing Director of Ortom8, a global workload-automation and IT operations specialist. With more than 28 years in IT service delivery, operations and transformation across blue-chip and publicsector environments, he is known for turning vision into execution while keeping customer outcomes front and centre.
Mike’s expertise spans a wide range of industries, including finance, healthcare, infrastructure, and government, where he has held senior leadership roles. Notable positions include: Bank of England, Network Rail, Experian UK and NHS Digital.
At Ortom8, Mike oversees a portfolio focused on workload automation (WLA) and enterprise IT optimisation, delivering design-build-run services, consultancy, and a hybrid-cloud managed service for BMC Control-M. With Ortom8 he leads migration and management of legacy schedulers and operates a subscription SaaS platform that simplifies complex estates while reducing cost and risk.
